  10.  AB    Infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is the primary
  11.        cause of AIDS and related disorders. Infection with HIV results in
  12.        diminished cellular immunity, propensity to opportunistic infections,
  13.        and an increased incidence of certain neoplasms. Kaposi's sarcoma (KS)
  14.        is the most common neoplasm in persons infected with HIV. This epidemic,
  15.        or HIV-related KS, usually follows an aggressive course with involvement
  16.        of skin, lymph nodes, and internal organs. Normally, the disease has a
  17.        progressive clinical course despite being responsive to radio- or
  18.        chemotherapy.
